MAYA HAIR CREME REVIEW

Monday, 28 March 2016

When Michelle, the creator of Maya reached out to me to collaborate, I could not say no. I'm the first to admit that I don't take great care of my hair and usually in the mornings, will just give it a brush and go. However, I always feel like my hair looks horrible, so I've been trying to use more products in it, and thought this would be the perfect opportunity! This creme basically promises to do it all - detangle, deep condition, define curls and repair...so naturally, I had to give it a go!

The creme itself is a blend of 12 natural oils and extracts, and as such, it smells amazing. Seriously, when I opened it, I was in heaven. It's like a jelly kind of texture which is interesting, but it's not sticky or gross! You know how some gels and hair products can just feel disgusting, like you're putting a mushed up jelly fish in your hair? Yeah, this isn't like that.

I used the product on my damp hair after washing it. My hair is really dry from bleaching the ends, and very very knotty all of the time. You have to use quite a bit of product I found, but I do have really long hair. I massaged it into my roots and down, and immediately felt it detangling. It was like I'd just dragged a brush through it, which really surprised me. I thought it would just be a bit of a gimmick.

After I'd dried it, my hair seemed much softer and it smelled really amazing. There's really not much more I can say - I genuinely think this could be a product for everyone. It's really worth the money too. On the website, it's £5 at the moment for 55ml, which is the size I have pictured above. The only downside I would say, is that if you don't rub it in properly, your hair can feel a bit sticky and greasy afterwards, but that's easily solved.

As a disclaimer, I'd like to just say that just because I got sent this, doesn't mean I'm just saying it's amazing. I really found this product to be super awesome, and I love supporting other women in their entrepreneurial endeavours. Michelle's story, more of which you can read here, is really interesting and the brand seems so genuine which is why I'm so happy to support it!

Thanks for reading!

  2. This sounds really good! I'm the same, I don't take care of my hair as much as I should! I do the odd hair mask now and again but don't keep up with a routine!

This Maya product looks good and I may have to invest!
