WHAT I GOT FOR CHRISTMAS - 2015

Wednesday, 30 December 2015

It's been a long time since I've posted anything on here since I started uni and just became lazy, drunk trash. But it's almost the new year and I miss blogging so here I am again! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas!

I'm not gonna lie, and do some disclaimer where I say I'm not bragging - I totally am. I was spoiled by people I love this year and of course I want to show it off. Why wouldn't I?! I'm incredibly grateful for all the presents I got, including the ones I haven't mentioned in this post.

Firstly my main surprise present was an iPad Mini 2 from my mum. This was such a shock - she asked me to choose one main present and I chose the Zoeva brush set, so wasn't expecting this! She continues to amaze me every year.

Also pictured above is the Red Queen book by Victoria Aveyard. I've included this because I started reading it last night and stayed up until 1am because I just couldn't put it down. It's not the most amazing piece of literature, but if you like a bit of YA fantasy, sort of along the Hunger Games lines, this would be for you. It's basically a mix of Game of Thrones and Hunger Games, with mutants. If that description doesn't woo you, I don't know what will.

My lovely boyfriend Ben bought me this beautiful Olivia Burton watch. He did have a few hints from me (I wish I could pretend he just knew my style oh so well) but I didn't think he'd actually get it. I'm so pleased he did because it's really gorgeous! I love the rose detailing on the face of the clock. Olivia Burton do so many beautiful watches - I've probably spent like three hours on their Instagram. So, if you're in the market for a new watch (they're around £60-£150) you should check out these ones!

No one in my family/friend group likes to buy me makeup, as I have a lot and I'm very picky. They more rely on me to get them makeup, as I know what's out there (which I love, it makes me feel like all these hours I spend watching Youtube are actually amounting to something). But I did receive these two gorgeous pieces this year. I absolutely love the Bobbi Brown eye wardrobe palette - it comes with six shades and four mini brushes that are actually of good quality. I haven't used it yet, but once I do I'm sure it'll be featured on here! I've never actually tried any bareMinerals makeup either, so I'm excited to give the Mineral Veil a try.

I asked for this gorgeous Zoeva eye brush set because currently I literally only use the double ended Urban Decay brush from the Naked 3, and a Mac 217. Don't judge me. The extent of my eyeshadow usage is usually a colour all over, darker in the crease, highlight in the inner corner. But all those Vines on Facebook and Twitter recently of the most amazing eyeshadow looks are really making me jealous, so I thought, for 2016, my eyeshadow game is gonna be stepped up. All the brushes feel gorgeously weighted and soft and although I don't know how I'll use every single one, I'm excited to experiment.

A couple of stocking fillers I got were this little Cath Kidston lanyard for my keys, and this Osprey mirror/card holder, both of which are super cute and practical.

I love having people pick perfume for me. I cannot do it myself. I go into a shop and I spray everything and it all just smells nasty or the same or I get torn between like 3 different ones. I have never had a successful perfume shopping trip. My signature scent at the moment is Alien, but only because my best friend who lives far away wears it and it reminds me of her (also: I'm a copycat). So when I unwrapped this, I was eager to smell it. I was worried it would smell like cat wee or something, but Jimmy Choo perfumes are usually really nice, and this was no exception!

Somewhere along the line of this year, I started collecting weird cups/mugs. I don't know what I'm gonna do with them all when I get my own house and want everything to match, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. The mug on the left is actually a Boxing Day sale bargain gift to myself but I wanted to feature it anyway. I love Stitch (Lilo & Stitch is my favourite Disney movie) and this came with a Scrump spoon, and it's just adorable. I like adorable things. My boyfriend bought me the Little Miss Sunshine mug which is also really lovely. I am a wannabe ray of sunshine.

Every Christmas, almost every girl gets a hundred and one* beauty/bath sets, and for me, this year was no exception. This Body Shop mango scent one is one of my favourites this year, as I absolutely love the smell!

One of my friends bought me this really cute dreamcatcher in rose gold to hang in my uni window, with my name on it. I thought this was really lovely and thoughtful, and I'm sure I'll put a picture on when it's up!

I also got these adorable Snow White socks from my mum, which were too cute not to mention!

I'm extremely grateful for everything I got this year, although I couldn't include it all in this post. I got a lot of hair products and beauty stuff which I'm sure I'll be featuring in posts in the new year. So I hope you enjoyed my little Christmas haul, and I'd love a link to yours down below!
