Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll know that H&M have launched a brand new beauty line! Saying that, I only knew the day before it was released because I saw a sponsored tweet...but (cliche alert) I knew I had to have it. I was shopping with my SO the next day and we went into H&M and I had to trawl through the entire men's section, and the more mature/business-y type floor we have in my H&M before I finally found the beauty. And there were literally so many products. Like, so many. I was 'oohing' and 'aahing' all over the place and jumping about, as you do, and obviously my SO was taking the piss out of me the entire time. Anyway, here's what I picked up!

Since we're going into autumn now, I wanted to try a darker lip shade, rather than the usual peachy pink or pale nudes I like to go for. I saw this purple shade called 'Heirloom' and immediately put it in my basket (yes, they have little mini beauty baskets!!). The lipliner pictured is in the shade 'Cherry Tart' and they swatch a bit differently, but on the lips the colours are a perfect match.

I must say the lipstick smells exactly like one by Mac, which I adore. As promised, it is super creamy, albeit a bit messy (although that's mostly due to the darkness of the shade). It's a little dark for me and I kinda feel like Lorde when wearing it, but the formulation and product itself is really good, especially for £7.99. You could probably do without the lipliner, although it's only £3.99, it doesn't bring much to the table - except making you look like you have a purple moustache if you apply it top lip first. I stuffed my face with McDonald's after applying and it lasted quite well, so I would recommend trying the lip products!

I was completely enamoured with this nail polish in the shade 'Smoky Loden' when I first applied it last night. The brush is one of those thick thin ones that spread out on your nail, making application easy, and it's very shiny and pigmented with one coat. However this morning it is already starting to chip, and looks a little messy in the harsh light of day - I'd recommend two coats. However I am pleased I got this - I spotted it whilst I was in the queue, and it's the beautiful khaki shade that I am definitely 100% obsessed with at the moment. Plus, it was only £3.99, and they have a load of different shades.

Like I said, I'm loving khaki at the moment, so I had to have this eyeshadow in the shade 'Stayin' Olive'. It's literally my beauty goal at the moment to create an eyeshadow look using a nice khaki colour in the crease, and maybe a taupe-y/browny/camel type colour in the middle of my lid. I thought this would be a perfect crease colour for that, and I've never been so adventurous with my makeup look (I'm usually an exclusively Naked palette, Virgin all over the lid, Buck in the crease kinda gal). And, it is. Kind of. It's a bit weird on application - it can be quite patchy, and it doesn't seem to be very pigmented...then you put more on your brush and suddenly you're Shrek. It blends quite nicely though, once you get the hang of it. It was £4.99, which is about average - not really a bargain, not really expensive.

Brush cleanser!! In a spray bottle!! For £2.99!! With nice packaging!! This was a big 'ooh' from me in the shop, and I chucked it straight in my basket. However, it's a bit disappointing. It smells nice and it does get the product of your brushes, but it takes bloody ages. It's quite easy as you just spray it on and wipe your brush on something (I classily used toilet paper) but like I said. It takes bloody ages.

Finally, I picked up this lotion from like, a wall of every scent imaginable. I picked this one because it was cream coloured and looked the most chic. I thought, "Which one will look nicest in my blog photos?". This one. Unfortunately, my SO told me it smelled like his dead grandma (RIP), but it's still an alright scent, and a nice lotion. The bottle is 250ml for £3.99 which isn't too bad. Then, the press on nails (£5.99)...I haven't tried these as I'm saving them for Freshers, but they look like they have a decent size variety, and the sticky pads are already on the back, so you don't have to faff about with peeling little gluey bits like you do with some press on nails, which is a positive. I'll let you know in October if they're a hit or miss!

That's all I picked up from the beauty department, but I'd love to know what the blushes and foundations are like - if you've tried anything let me know!

P.S Once again, sorry for being AWOL! I'd like to say I've been super busy, but really I've just been super lazy. I'm moving into uni next week, but right after I post this I'll be writing and scheduling 4 more posts for the week, so I'll be sticking around! Thanks for reading <3

  2. That nail colour is really pretty. I love the H&M makeup bits (especially the concealers) but the hair care is also awesome. :)
