Ever since Nars came out with their velvet matte lip pencils, and they proved to be popular, it seems new ranges of pencils/crayons have been popping up everywhere in time for spring. I haven't had a chance to get my hands on a Nars one, as we don't have Nars in Norwich and I prefer to shop in store when it comes to makeup, I thought I'd try out some drugstore alternatives, and landed up with the Max Factor Colour Elixir Giant Pen Stick in my basket!

I chose this one specifically because of the shade and brand - it's called 'vibrant pink' and I absolutely adore bright pinks like this for spring/summer, especially with my pale/kind of translucent skintone. I also really love the formula of Max Factor lipsticks, so I was eager to see if they could carry this into crayon format. However, I was also tempted by this No7 alternative, so hopefully I'll pick that up next time, as it's a new release (and it's matte, if that's your thing).

Max Factor have released five other shades of this product (seen here) and it only costs £6.99, which in my eyes is a total bargain. If it works.

It does have a slight sheen to it, which I like, and it's super pigmented! It wears like this on the lips too, and it's a really bright pink colour.

I've been wearing this non stop for about a week now and I absolutely love it. I've gotten many positive comments about it too, which are always nice to hear! It's really long lasting, which surprised me, and as I said, highly pigmented. I would definitely recommend using a lip scrub before applying this product though, as it does cling to dry skin - other than that, it's really moisturising and glossy, without being sticky.

Overall, this product is definitely a hit, and I can't wait to check out more shades from the range, and try out more lip crayons - any suggestions?
