"I'm only going to replace my eyeliner," I tell myself as I walk into Superdrug. Twenty minutes later, and I leave with this. I can't say I'm unhappy though!

Firstly, I picked up these three Makeup Revolution palettes, because I just couldn't resist. I've never tried Makeup Revolution before, but I saw how cheap the palettes were and started swatching! I'm so glad I did. Together these palettes cost £12 (the third was free).

This blush palette in 'Sugar & Spice' is my absolute favourite. I love blush palettes, and this is amazing for the cost (£6). My favourite two shades are the bright pink for blush, and the white/pinky shade for a highlight which is next to it. The highlight is incredible! I used to use the blush and highlight from the Naked: On the Run Palette, but now I'm using these on a daily basis.

I also picked up this Redemption Iconic palette for £3 I think? It's a really nice neutral eyeshadow palette. I haven't used it yet, but it swatches well, and I really like the first few colours. The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't have a mirror - but for the money, you can see why.

Another eyeshadow palette...this one (Run Boy Run/Salvation) got me due to the variety of shades. They had a lot of neon/colourful palettes I wanted to pick up too, because my shadow collection consists basically of neutrals and pinks, but I was on a budget. I'm really excited to try these, especially the reddish shade, 'Break Out From Society'. The shade names are super weird, but I like it (apart from the spelling mistake in 'Its Time To Run).

I also picked up my holy grail eyeliner, which is the Rimmel Glam Eyes liquid liner. I love this and rarely use or even try other eyeliners because I'm so used to this - it doesn't smudge or budge for hours, and I've perfected my cat eye with the brush, which I find easy to use. Perfect!

I was on the lookout for a primer too, so I picked up the L'oreal Infallible Mattifying Base as I've heard a lot of people talk about the foundation. Whilst I usually try to stay away from skin products that promise a 'matte' finish (skin is not supposed to be matte!!), I figured this would be okay as that is essentially what most primers are trying to do when evening out your skin. I'm glad I took the chance as I really like this primer!

Finally, a summer makeup essential I picked up for only £2.99 was the Rimmel Soft Kohl eyeliner in white. I've been using this on my waterline and inner corner then blending it slightly, and it looks amazing (if I do say so myself). I absolutely love how bright my eyes look, and it's so cheap and lasts ages. You definitely need one in your life!

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know what you think!

  1. I've still yet to try the Revolution brand, but the more reviews I see on their products, the more I want to buy - but then again I wouldn't class that a problem as their products are so reasonably priced.

I'm very much in need of some blushes, and their palette looks perfect - especially with the variety of colours, perfect for any occasion or season!

Great post - thanks for sharing :-)

    1. It's so funny you mentioned the Naked palettes as yesterday I tried Salvation/Run Boy Run palette's pinky shades with the Naked 3 and created a really nice look! There wasn't even much difference between the quality of the shadows!!

  3. Ooh, I haven't heard of that Rimmel liquid liner before! Will definitely check it out. Do you happen to know how it compares to Maybelline? :)

  4. It's really good! It is a bit unknown though because I don't think people really go to Rimmel for eyeliners haha. I've tried the felt tip Maybelline eyeliner and didn't really like it, it was a bit smudgy x
